Our Story

Desiring to see healthy churches planted, Crosspoint Church of Clemson, South Carolina sent the Ferrell and Fulmer families to plant King's Church in Charlotte, North Carolina the summer of 2019.  From the beginning, King's Church desired to multiply disciples, leaders, and churches for King Jesus.  We are convicted that God's will and plan to fill the earth with His glory occurs through planting churches to the ends of the earth.

After researching potential locations, the city of Charlotte proved to be a strategic location to plant a church.  Charlotte boasts over 880,000 people and continues to grow as one of the top 10 fastest growing cities in the US full of diversity and the nations moving to the city.  Furthermore, 9 of the 10 most unreached areas in North Carolina are located in Charlotte.  With the growth of the city, and lostness that exists, Charlotte proves to be a place in need of more church plants.

After identifying Charlotte as a church planting location, the team decided to focus their church plant in the University City Area.  Crosspoint (the sending church) desires to reach the next generation of laborers for Christ and finds value planting churches near college campuses.  King's Church also desires to see the next generation of laborers for Christ and chose to plant near UNC Charlotte.  UNCC is one of the largest schools in North Carolina with a population of nearly 30,000 students with roughly 1900 international students providing a great opportunity to reach the next generation with the gospel.

On moving to Charlotte in 2019 a core group of people started meeting in a home near the University area to equip disciples who enjoy Christ and evangelize the lost. On October 4, 2020, King’s Church covenanted together with 14 members and celebrated with our church partners, family, and friends. God has been gracious through this process and we are thankful for how He continues to work in and through our lives.  We are also thankful for those the Lord provided as partners in the gospel and church planting.  May Christ be honored through King’s Church.
